Mark brings a unique skill set to The Gamot Law Firm.

Following a distinguished 33year career in law enforcement with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, and retiring in 2014 with the rank of Captain, Mark embarked on a new, much more hazardous careerworking for his Wife, Nicole.

During his remarkable career in law enforcement, Mark served in nearly every division and in every capacity within the PBCSO. Some of just a few of these assignments include patrol duty, Homicide Detective, Tactical Operations, and Court serviced. Mark was selected as one of two detectives for a Cold Case Unit, investigating unsolved homicides, a first for PBSO.

Mark was an agent in the Organized Crime Bureau, investigating streetlevel drug crimes to large scale drug trafficking and smuggling, frequently working in an undercover capacity to further these investigations. Mark transferred to Special Investigations, directing the investigation of Financial Crimes and the opportunity to develop of the Agency’s first Computer Crimes Unit.

Mark served as the Executive Officer in the Internal Affairs Division managing complex internal investigations, officer involved critical incidents, and investigations into allegations of wrongdoing by ranking officers and civilian personnel. Mark served as the Executive Officer within the Office of Legal Affairs, tasked with managing the Agency’s litigation and the Legal Affairs’ Investigator’s caseloads, the Agency’s Forfeiture Unit, liaison to the Agency’s contracted outside counsel, and responding to critical incidents as the Legal Affairs’ representative and liaison to the Sheriff, Legal Advisor and Executive Staff.

Marks final assignment with PBSO followed his promotion to Captain and assignment to District 6 as District Commander, West Boynton Beach, serving a diverse populous of over 150,000 residents. Under his leadership, the District 6 philosophy harmoniously embraced a problemsolving policing philosophy by working closely with residents, business owners, and public officials to diligently provide innovative and welltrained professional police services to maintain Palm Beach County’s exceptional quality of life.

Mark now brings his experience, insight, and innovation to assist the Firms’ clients. He has been a Florida Bar registered paralegal since 2017. He is the “fix it” guy that helps solve the myriad of issues one would expect in a predominantly female firm, and his marriage has survived and blossomed, despite calling his wife Boss”.
